This Apprenticeship programme is specially designed to provide you with thorough training in commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems within a busy Truck and Bus dealership.
You will work alongside skilled and experienced Technicians, to learn how to get to grips with the technological requirements of the modern commercial vehicle, and how to deal with the computer programmes and vehicle parts logistics with today’s transport industry.

The apprentice programmes are all about the developing your skills to help you succeed in today’s fast moving world of transport.

We provide a range of service to our clients, from new and used vehicle sales, to genuine parts, servicing and maintenance. Training to be provided.
Main training carried out within the Aquila workshop under a skilled qualified mentoring system, College will be on a scheduled 2 week block release 4 times a year.

Working week: 40 Hours

Wage (per week): £160.00

Expected apprenticeship duration: 3 years apprenticeship followed by an Improver Year

Requirements and prospects

• Service and repair customer vehicles.
• Fault finding and diagnosis of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication.
• Completion of statutory inspection sheets.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
• Providing an efficient breakdown service with in field repairs to the highest standard of workmanship.
• To ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are complied with in line with current legislation.
• To take part in any training or development deemed necessary to carry out tasks.
• To complete other duties as requested by a Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications required
Ideally you will be working towards / achieved level 4 in Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent)

Things to consider
You will be expected to stay away from home during the block release at college; Home Stay accommodation will be arranged for you by the college at no cost to you.

Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW):

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
